Theatres in the Round Raleigh, North Carolina

Theatres in the Round was formed in January 2005. From there it was only a matter of months until their debut CD, "Why Should We Wait Any Longer?", was released. Soon after its release, Dennis did not hesitate to begin working on the follow-up. While "Why Should We Wait" focused on his softer side, Dennis really wanted to let out his harder edge. Less than 1 year later "Satiate" was released. ... more

Track Name: Chains That Bind
Verse 1
Lost to the world with my mind deep inside
Cannot find all these things though I try
All these ideas in my head, in my mind
But I hold on to these chains, things that bind

And I cannot see what I’m meant to see
And I cannot be all these things till I’m free
And I cannot detract all this pain inside me
But now I know only you hold the key

Chorus
Why do we, why do we even try
Why don’t we, try to read the signs
Why do you keep putting up a fight
You should break, break those chains that bind

Verse 2
Lost to the world with my mind deep inside
Cannot find all these things though I try
I have not won, I have not even tried
It seems the good in this mind it has died

And I cannot see what I’m meant to see
And I cannot be all these things till I’m free
And I cannot detract all this pain inside me
But now I know only you hold the key
Track Name: Speaking to Me
Verse 1
Ages past, we were friends.
Now it seems that was all just trends.
Now you speak to me, try to correct me.
In that tone so condescendingly.

Verse 2
Values taught, lessons learned.
How to scorn those, who once yearned.
Why do you speak to me, force views upon me.
In that tone so condescendingly.

Verse 3
Now its quiet, now its still.
No more bending to your will.
No more questions, for you to ask
Now I’m moving past the past.
No more speaking, speaking to me
In that tone so, condescendingly.
No more speaking, speaking to me
In that tone so, condescendingly.
Track Name: Veneer
Verse 1
You think yourself right.
You think myself wrong.
All the while you ignore the song.
Perhaps you can look past egotistical eyes.
You could hear the resounding cries.

Pre-chorus
All on your own you flounder.
Now you’ve found majestic power.

Chorus
And still you try to prove it.
You argue just to lose it.
Why do you keep talking in my ear…
I’m past your veneer.

Verse 2
Lies are what you tell.
Hoping none see through.
Exposing the fraud, seeing the true.
Perhaps if you looked past egotistical eyes
To learn the power of compromise

Pre-chorus
Your life is a masquerade
And underneath you degrade.
Track Name: Floating
Verse 1
And now we can see
What will be will always be
And it is no mystery
How come we can always fight
Who has given us the right
Who has given us the might
Stand up, pump the air and shout
We won’t take this anymore

Chorus
We will fight, we will win
Now how shall this begin
Each and every sin
Has been leading up to this
You no longer have control
Now that I am on my own
Now it seems what can you do
You have lost that part of you

Verse 2
You always had to try
You always had to sigh
You will never see me die
Now that I am on my own
Now that I have come and gone
Now that I have come and shown
Stand up, pump the air and shout

Verse 3
In the end it came to this
I had to shoot because you had missed
Just some inconvenience
It was all just part of life
Now I’m gone, end of strife
No more turning of the knife
Stand up, pump the air and shout
I won’t take this anymore
Track Name: Pump the Air
Verse 1
And now we can see

Who has given us the right
Who has given us the might

We won’t take this anymore

Chorus
We will fight, we will win
Now how shall this begin
Each and every sin
Has been leading up to this
You no longer have control
Now that I am on my own
Now it seems what can you do
You have lost that part of you

Track Name: Down That Line
Verse 1
Way down, on the way down, on the way down that line.
I saw, saw you there, saw you on down that line
I called, I called your name, called you on down that line
You stopped, you stopped and turned, you turned on down that line

Verse 2
We stood, stood still as time, on the way down that line
I stared, stared in your eyes, stared on the way down that line
Your kiss, kiss hit my lips, kissed on the way down that line
We walked, walked by the vine, walked on the way down that line

Verse 3
Now we, we are happy, happy on down that line
Together, we are to be, together on down that line
Track Name: Uncertain Life
Verse 1
When I run and hide,
When I stand my side
When I run back to the walls
I use to face the night
When I stand my ground,
When I’m lost and found
When I face the enemy
Laughin at the sound

Chorus
Uncertain Life,
Don’t know what to do
Don’t know where to go
How to see things through.
Uncertain life,
Doubt that surrounds me
Things that you can’t see
Uncertainty running through me

Verse 2
When I have died,
When those who’ve sighed
When all the heart ache
Will subside
What will be of me
When I cannot see
Those who want to hurt
Those who want to feed

Verse 3
When all the lies
When all the cries
When all the doubt and fear
Has left my mind
Track Name: Two Ways to Go
Verse 1
You can look up to heaven above you,
You can look down to hell below
In the end it doesn’t really matter.
In the end you really can’t know.
If you follow the straight and narrow
If you follow the deep and the wide
There is no one even there to help you
No one can help you decide

Chorus
In this life there are things uncertain
In this life there are things unknown
In this life there are things forgotten
In this life there are two ways to go.

Verse 2
You can turn to your left or your right
You can turn from side to side
Each new signpost that you see
None will tell you which way to be
Is there a god in heaven or a devil in hell
Will either one have stories to tell
If they do will you listen
If they do will you be wise

Chorus

Verse 3
Do the things other say ring true
Are they the same things you say to you
Clouded skies may loom far and wide
In your mind have those stories died
Will we be judged by the quick and the dead
If we have lived all that we’ve said

Chorus
Track Name: I've Waited
Verse 1
I’ve waited, I’ve waited for so long girl.
Just to hear your voice
Just to hear your voice.
I’ve waited, I’ve waited for so long girl.
Just to see your face,
In our barefoot embrace.

Chorus
I don’t know what to do,
When you see right through.
All the lies and disguise in which I try to hide,
It’s no use to refuse what I’m feeling now.

Verse 2
I’ve waited, I’ve waited for so long girl.
Just to feel your kiss
Upon my hungry lips
I’ve waited, I’ve waited for so long girl.
Just to be with you
Oh just to be with you
Just to be with you
Say I love you too
Track Name: Tears Don't Stain
Verse 1
I sat a park bench, hands in my eyes
Wondering how these things, had passed us by
I don’t know what to think, or what to say
Maybe just one more drink will ease the pain
But it is a good thing, that tears don’t stain

Chorus
Tears in my lonely eyes, tears on my own
Tears for the passerby, who walks all alone
Tears that have gripped me, in this shell I contain
But it’s a good thing, yes it’s a good thing
That tears don’t stain

Verse 2
I sat on my rooftop, wondering what went wrong
That’s when I knew, its been gone all along
Still I did wonder if you felt the same
Hoping in my heart, this was some sick game
But it’s a good thing that tears don’t stain

Chorus
Tears in my lonely eyes, tears on my own
Tears for the passerby, who walks all alone
Tears that have gripped me, in this shell I contain
But it’s a good thing, yes it’s a good thing
That tears don’t stain

Bridge
Why couldn’t you have told me how you felt
How in a prision you sat
But now I have found for myself
The reason that
All those lies that you told
They were in vain
And now I have truly found
That tears don’t stain
Track Name: Now It's Over
Verse 1
Now, now its over, now its done, we move on
Now, say goodbye, no more worrying, do not cry
Now, past the past, past the future, one last chance
To, be with you, all alone, what to do
Sing, sing with me, in one harmony, in one key

Chorus
We sing na (14x)

Verse 2
Now, there is no show, there is no acting, we’re on the go
Now, got it made, life is easy, I wouldn’t trade
It, for the world, for any other, other girl
None, can compare, to the feelings, we have shared
You, are the whole, are the greatest, heart and soul

Chorus
We sing na (14x)

Verse 3
Now, I can see, in your heart, I am free
To, be myself, as I can’t be, with someone else
You, are the one, who had helped me, write my song
Would, would you stay, here with me, if you may
Sing, sing with me, in one harmony, in one key

Chorus
We sing na
